Oops, That Didn’t Work. Now What?

Creating New Ideas in the Very Sense of the Meaning

In this video I was short on time, long on ambition and armed with a vague idea that’s about as solid as wet tissue paper.

My newest video is about creating new ideas in the very sense of the meaning.

When I made this, in real-time 20-minute journaling session, but now sped up to 5 minutes; I was rather in a turbo-rush.

Artjournaling is never about perfection or what you had in mind before you started. I created this page with aqua colored pencils from Faber Castell. Just scribble around the whole page and let the water do the job.

Creative ideas are often just shapeshifters. Maybe your first plan was to make your text pop, but that stubborn little “NOPE” from your supplies turned it into a totally different direction.

Did we see a shift? Absolutely. Was it planned? Heck no. Does it still work? You bet your washi tape it does. And let’s be honest, isn’t this the best part about journaling? Fixing it along the process.

So, hats off to this high-speed journal moment. It’s a beautiful, messy reminder that ideas aren’t set in stone; they’re made of ink, glue, and questionable decisions that sometimes look amazing.

And next time you’re (or me) racing the clock and second-guessing your layout? Remember: speed journaling makes great content, perfection is overrated, and the ‘final touch’ is always tomorrow’s problem.

Let’s keep creating
